A Mother’s MeanderingsFrustrated, Angry and Fed Up!

My friend Janelle being real and honest. Here’s a snippet,

I knew my kids were tired as well and instead of giving them guidance and direction this morning, I left them to themselves, not wanting to “waste” my time on training them and instructing them. I was neglecting the very job God had so graciously given me; raising me children for God’s glory.

But even more importantly, God penetrated my heart.

Enough a Cynic to BelieveAnnouncing My First Ever Giveaway

My friend Jenny is hosting her first giveaway. She’s giving away a SpendYourself t-shirt. Here’s what she says about it,

SpendYourself is a non-profit apparel company that seeks to bring hope to the hopeless and empower those who are oppressed by highlighting different social justice projects around the world; a t-shirt is designed for the project and sales of the shirt go directly to the project.

So go on over there and check it out.

Passionate HomemakingLetting Go of Unrealistic Expectations

I really enjoyed what Lindsay had to say about putting unrealistic expectations on our husbands (and, of course, letting them go). You know the ones…you should know what I want without me saying it! Definitely been there a time or two…learning and growing.

Money Saving MomFebruary Freezer Cooking

Money Saving Mom (along with Life as Mom) are hosting February Freezer Cooking. I love the idea of OMAC (once a month cooking), but I have never done a whole month’s worth of meals. Until yesterday.

My goal was to make meals for Thursday nights when both Joe and I have a weekly event and make meals for when my family comes to visit in a few weeks.

I cooked in the morning, took a break in the afternoon, and started back up in the evening. I won’t tell you what time I went to bed, but let’s just say this it was late…or early depending on how you look at it.

But it was an extremely productive day. I made pizza dough, pancake, and bread mixes and the main dishes for about 18 meals. Joey did extremely well…better than when I usually cook dinner.

And it all took place in my very tiny kitchen!

A New Look

Some of you may know my brother is an uber talented graphic designer. You can see his portfolioblog, and where he draws a word a day.  Last weekend we were talking to him and I mentioned I’d like for my blog to get a little personality, because it’s seriously lacking some. In a few hours he sent me what he’d done. Here’s a sneak peek:

I love it…and it should be up by Monday, so come back and check it out!

I have been really intrigued by the whole once a month cooking…but I don’t have a large freezer…and for casseroles and such, what do you store them in? I will have to check out the blogs- I am behind on my reading…

Thanks for posting about the giveaway- you need to pick which shirt you would want if you won!
