The second item to be marked off on my 52 in 2010 list eating at Queen of Sheba. It was our Valentine’s date and it was awesome. Joe and I went on a mission trip to Ethiopia in 2007 and loved the food, so when we found out there was an authentic Ethiopian restaurant here in Louisville we knew we had to try it out.
It was well worth it.
We ate in the traditional style (minus the basket for a table) on larger platter with injera instead of utensils. Ethiopian coffee is pretty much the best in the world, but it’s very strong. That’s why they serve it these itty-bitty mugs and why we drink it with lots of sugar. And on our plate we had Yebeg Tibs and Alicha Doro Wot.
I’ve yet to try this either of these at home, but one of our favorite at home Ethiopian dishes is Ethiopian Cabbage. It’s pretty simple and tasty!

I LOVE Ethiopian food. We have an Ethiopian restaurant that is a buffet near where we live and we’ve been a few times.
