Soaking it in—slowing down to soak it in…baby breaths, baby steps, stopping the world to notice this moment.
Right here. Right now.
I’ve practiced the hurried so deep for so long that the slowing is really a relearning. A lesson in breathing.
Pausing.
Stopping.
I’ve spent so much of my life rushing to be the best, get the most done, be on top, to finish first. To do lists, neverending projects, tidying each nook and cranny. Something, there was {is} always something to keep the wheel of busy turning.
It’s a life, but it’s a life not breathed deep…sucked in through the nostrils and exhaled with impatience. Go, go, go! Never stop…that was my motto.
But—
being here, in this pursuit of life, love, family and Him who is Majesty, is where I want to be. But I’m still learning to turn off the shuffling, the dishes, the tyranny of the urgent to be here. In. this. moment.
So when a little boy calls, “Mommy! Come dance with me.”
I go dance.

Sweet. Good for you.
Enjoy!
“Mommy! Come dance with me…” I go dance.
Powerful words, powerful truth…. such a beautiful reminder to live in those precious moments while we have them.
LOVE, yes go and dance with your lad, make memories, a legacy of moments
I love this! Yes, go dance!
Beautiful! True! Slow Down and dance!
You are teaching him to dance, to cherish this life. Delicious. You are teaching him what he will value in his own family one day.
I know it’s Saturday – but I spent most of the week catching up to reading all of the multitude or Ann’s “Multitude Monday” – and still didn’t finish them all. I got to way over 100 f them though.
And now I’m settling in for the weekend of reading “Walk with him Wednesdays” and I come to yours and it slows me down – even in my hurry – it’s like a breath of air.
We are all learning from Ann to dance when we should dance – and slow down the moments.
I was blessed by this. Thank you.
God be with you and yours
Great, great post!
