If I Knew I Wouldn’t Fail

Here it is.

Friday.

Time to let down our pretenses and shed the protective armor called fear.

If you knew you wouldn’t fail, what would you do? What dream would you pull out of the closest? Off the shelf?

Would you take that chance? You know, the one you’ve been quietly dreaming about.

If you weren’t afraid of failing…of knocking hard against the ground, of what people might think…or say,

what would you do?

Friends…it’s time.

It’s time to be brave together, to share those dreams with wide open hands. To open up with that one hard thing you want to do or God’s been telling you to do, but feel you just can’t.

If I Knew I Wouldn’t Fail

We can call it a support group, but I’d really like it to be a gathering of friends bent on encouraging and pushing one another on in the hard things. Stepping out in faith and obedience to our Creator…coming to the altar and laying it all bare for His glory.

I envision this a place where we surround and hold each other up, praying for one another, and whisper in the hard moments, “You can do it! You were made for this! Just try!”

Let’s be a community of faith-pursuers, obedient daughters aiming to honor the King in our pursuits.

Join us…

You don’t have to be a blogger or writer or have some grandiose dream. There are no prerequisites. Just a heart ready and willing to move beyond fear and What will people think? into obedience.

So share…what’s your thing?

Is it reconciliation? Writing? Finishing a degree? Losing weight? Inviting your neighbor over for dinner? Asking someone teach you a skill?

How to join…

  1. First Step- Write a blog post (or if you don’t have a blog leave a comment) sharing what you would do if you knew you wouldn’t fail. Share a bit of your hear, even your fears, and–if you feel ready–how you’re going to pursue your thing.
  2. Share – Link your If I Knew I Wouldn’t Fail post on the linky below.
  3. Community – Visit other ladies in the link-up and spread the love and encouragement.
  4. Invite – Feel free to invite your friends to join in.

I’m thinking each month we’ll come back and share how we’ve stepped out, grown, and then encourage one other to keep pressing on.

Are you ready?

******************

What’s my thing? Wednesday I wrote about fleshing out my fears. You see, I have this writing project I started, oh…7 or 8 years ago and have worked on little bits here and there, but with no consistency and haven’t shared it outside my family. In my head I call it Redemption’s Song.

I don’t even know what to call it. It’s allegorical. Kind of. My post from yesterday, Redemption’s Song, is a bit of a glimpse into what it is. (It still feels weird sharing this.)

I want to bring it off the shelf and begin writing regularly again. And maybe even sharing it with people, get some critique, and write about it here.

I hear this the other day…”Only the mediocre man is always at his best.” Like your bro said in the other post, the people who have done great things and who we admire probably failed a whole bunch of times before they did great things. The only real way to fail to do great things is to never make the attempt.

That all being said, yes, I’ve got something. But I’m trying to figure out how to say it…
