Each of us has a voice as a writer. Some of us are still searching, while others are comfortable and confident in who they’ve become as a writer.
But wherever you are in your journey, you still have a purpose.
Over the years I’ve felt like giving up because I didn’t think I had something worthwhile to say or someone already said it better than me. It’s been trial and error and a road to obedience. Part of finding your voice, as a child of God, is discovering the passion He’s put in you to write.
There’s a reason. He wouldn’t call you out for nothing–everything has purpose.
Find the why and the illuminating “a-ha!” will drive to pick up pen and paper. God is purposeful in all his ways. And this writing? It’s not just some pointless hobby or way to fill your time.
It has value. It has worth. It has purpose.
If the Lord has called you to it, then that’s all you need know. Obey.
Who knows what may come out of your obedience?
If nothing more than a closer walk with Him it’s still worth it.

I just discovered that I’m not a “follower” – for shame! Okay – fixed it! I love…well pretty much every single thing you’ve written and am taking my time going back through some of your older posts! Thank you for being faithful to the calling He’s given you – may He bless you richly!
Thanks for following!
I was praying for you yesterday, friend.
I found this post through a search on Twitter for “write”. Thank you for your words which were much needed today. So much confirmation that I need to follow Him in His leading. The Battle is the Lord’s. May He complete His work in us for His name’s sake.
You’re welcome, Jenny. May you press on in the journey He has for you! (Btw, do you have a blog?)
Another beautifully written piece. Wonderful! Thank you for the reminder.
My purpose, I feel, has changed over the years. God has led me, changed me and molded me through writing, and if there is nothing else, that is completely enough for me. To Him be the glory.
It is, isn’t it? It’s a perspective I’ve grown into.
“If the Lord has called you to it, then that’s all you need know. Obey.” What a great reminder. So often I feel down about what I’m doing but I need to remember that if I’m doing it because He has asked it of me then no matter how difficult I must press on.
