Does anyone else feel like this year is passing by quicker than years past?
No? Just me.
Must mean I’m getting old…or have kids…or something.
But October begins on Saturday. It feels like summer has said its final goodbyes around these parts and fall is settling in for the season. Which I’m thrilled about, because fall is my favorite season. But with October also comes the 31 days series.
Have you heard of it? The last few years a few bloggers have taken the month of October to blog every day on a particular topic. You can read about it here and here.
I’m, insanely, writing along to the tune of 31 days of significance.
This idea of significance. It’s a shaky territory, because we are significant as children of the Creator, but I’ve seen how the world and, sadly, some Christians have twisted that to a gospel that is all about me. That’s not what I’m taking about. I’ll just lay the bottom line out right now–
my only significance, your only significance comes from the Father and the redeeming work of Jesus.
It’s a interesting road to travel, because the world shoots down our God-focused significance and feeds us with lies that we only matter by what we do, how we look, or how well we perform. The enemy spreads lies like wildfire and we live in insignificance, always looking over our shoulder…trying to find a better way, straining and striving for the peace that tells us we’re alright.
I’m hesitant to write on this topic, because I still struggle with this so much. But I feel God’s pulling and prompting at my heart to dig down deep once again.
Will you join me in wrestling with the truth? Maybe we’ll come out as daughters embracing the truth and living in the beauty of His grace and freedom.

I have a feeling that as you write God will open up your understanding about your significance in him and it will take on deeper meaning than ever before. I’m looking forward to benefiting from the truth you will learn and share!
